We are fully staffed at the moment.  However, we are continuing to grow our program, and if you have the heart for this job and feel like God is sending you our direction, reach out! The ideal candidate would have some senior care experience, but we are willing to train someone with the heart for the job. This position will also involve daily contact with our children, so a love of little ones is important as well.

Caregiving jobs vary, and we believe that caregiving at Gentog is the best gig in town.  Here's why:

  • Caregiving shifts can be 24/7 - but at Gentog they are between 8am and 5:30pm.  Monday through Friday.  No evenings.  No weekends.
  • One-on-one caregiving can be boring.  Keeping one person engaged isn't easy.  Working with a group of people generates variety and fun.
  • Caregiving in a facility where you are assigned too many people in different rooms can be challenging.  Giving the appropriate care and attention to each person is not easy.  Caregiving in our environment is a team effort - staff and participants together in one place where we can all pay attention and respond appropriately.  You can provide 5-star care every day.
  • If you need a part-time job, we can work with that.  We are usually able to be flexible with regular shifts.  Currently we really need someone that can help close the program each day (3pm-5:30pm), but the start time for the shift can be flexible - up to a full 8 hours.
  • Caregiving in private settings means driving from place to place.  Caregiving here means you come to the same place every day.  Free on-site parking.  Bus stop at the end of the driveway.
  • Doing the same thing day in, day out can be boring.  Our staff does a little of visits, leading small groups, leading large groups, assisting with ADLs (ie: eating & restrooms), cleaning, music, crafts.  If you particularly enjoy something, speak up.  We love having staff share their talents!
  • Working with seniors is so rewarding.  If you are a caregiver you already know that.  But being in an intergenerational setting where you (and the seniors) can have daily interactions with babies, toddlers and preschoolers...well, that is magical.  It's amazing to see the joy of these interactions.  It's even better to be the person who facilitates those interactions.
  • If you want to truly live your faith, this is a place that welcomes you.  Praying with someone (or a small group) is encouraged.  Singing praise songs is welcome.  Simply personifying "They will know we are Christians by our love" matters here.
  • You will know that you make a difference in the life of somebody here.  Every single day.
